A hugely charismatic performer, British Jazz singer-songwriter Matthews has been captivating international crowds for two decades, working with A-list artists like Herbie Hancock, Mulatu Astatke, Richard Bona, Angelique Kidjo, Bennie Maupin, and Duke Ellington's apprentice Monty Alexander. He has won accolades, including a Best Live Performance nomination at the 2018 Jazz FM Awards and Best Band at Jazz Ascona 2019. His live shows are testaments to the power and potential of the voice, each imbued with the sort of fourth-wall-smashing dynamism intrinsic to the roots of jazz.
